Hawaii’s premiere and only general fine arts museum, the Honolulu Academy of Arts, invites you to enjoy its acclaimed national and international traveling exhibitions alongside its permanent collection of more than 38,000 works of art. The galleries are equally divided between Western and Asian art and are encyclopedic in nature and scope. The Western collections encompass ancient to contemporary times as the holdings range from Cycladic, Greek, Roman, and Egyptian works from as early as the third millennium B.C. to American and European arts of the 19th century. The Asian collection is one of the museum’s principal strengths and is often cited as one of the top ten in America. In addition, the traditional arts of Africa, the Pacific, and the Americas are well represented. It also features the Doris Duke Theatre, studio art school, along with a gift store, and café to complete the visitor experience.

TheBus #2 bus from Waikiki. Waikiki and Oli Oli Trolleys stop in front of the Museum.
By car: From H-1 Eastbound: Take Lunalilo St. exit. Proceed to Ward Avenue and turn left. Proceed to Kinau Street and turn left. Proceed to Victoria and turn right. Proceed to Young Street and turn left; Parking is available in the lot behind the Academy Art Center. Parking is validated at $3 for 4 hours. Metered street parking also available.
Note: Front Entrance is on Beretania Street.
